Shakir hussain Ansari is a master of metal crafts. Making carvings on brass and silver and converting them into magnificent pieces of art is his passion. During years of his work he has introduced many innovations in the original art as filling colours in patterns and making soveingers of metal.
Skillful art of making Kashi also known as blue pottery traces back its origin in Persia, central Asia and Mongolia. It is said that originally this art originated from Kasghar, China.As time passed Kashi work from multan developed its own unique style and identification around the globe.
MALIK ABDUL REHMAN
Malik Abdul Rhman Naqassh’s great grand father started the art of making camel skin lamps by carving them and making colorful traditional patterns on dried and processed skin of camel. His father, Ustad Abdullah Naqash, made first camel skin lamp in 1910. After Abdullah Naqash, his son, Ashiq Naqash (Malik Abdul Rehman’s father) developed this art further by making other artifacts such as jewellery boxes.
